在我們需要翻譯的文件材料中一般數(shù)字我們都直接用阿拉伯?dāng)?shù)字代替，但是有些大概形的呢？比如幾十、上百、過億等等。
由于英語數(shù)字的表達(dá)與漢語數(shù)字的表達(dá)方式不同，漢譯時(shí)需要換算。數(shù)字的換算看起來似乎很簡單，但翻譯工作者往往會(huì)因?yàn)椴恍⌒亩稿e(cuò)誤，可謂失之毫厘、廖之千里。例如：

數(shù)詞組成的常用短語
這類短語大多是由數(shù)詞和介詞搭配而成，或是數(shù)詞和其他詞類搭配而成，常用來表示不確定的范圍和概念，有時(shí)也可表示事物所處的狀態(tài)或其他情況。例如：

概數(shù)的譯法
英漢中都有使用概數(shù)來表示不確定的范圍或概念的語言現(xiàn)象。例如漢語中的幾個(gè)、十來個(gè)、若干、大約、大概、左右、不到、多于、少于等概念，在英語中都能找到與之對(duì)等的詞。
表示“大約” "不確定”的翻譯策略
在英語中，一般常使用about, some, around, round, nearly, towards, somewhere about， estimated， approximately， in/of/on the border of， close to等詞修飾數(shù)字，表示“不確定”、“大約”、“上下”、“將近”、“幾乎”等。
It is nearly (or towards) 4 o’clock.
--現(xiàn)在已是將近4點(diǎn)了。
The price of this new machine is in the neighborhood of a thousand dollars.
--這臺(tái)新機(jī)器的價(jià)格約1，000美元。
According to the weatherman, the temperature will be up 5℃ or so.
--據(jù)天氣預(yù)報(bào)，氣溫將升高5℃左右。
表示“高于”“多于”的翻譯方法
英語常用more than， odd， over， above， long， past， or more， upwards of ， higher than， exceed， in excess of 等詞修飾數(shù)字，表示“超過”、“以上”、“有余”、“高于”、“多于”等。
The weight of this child is said to be over one hundred pounds.
--據(jù)說，這個(gè)孩子的體重有100多磅。
It took me more than two hours to finish the homework.
--我花了兩個(gè)多小時(shí)才做完家庭作業(yè)。
